The Symposium was held as part of a set of initiatives, projects and events dedicated to the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia. More…IBMC-80

On October 3-4, 2024 in Moscow will host the All-Russian Conference with international participation "Biomedical Chemistry: Science and Practice", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the V.N. Orekhovich Scientific Research Institute of Biomedical Chemistry (IBMC). More:
The memorandum was signed on May 18th

Within the framework of the XIV INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC FORUM "RUSSIA - ISLAMIC WORLD: KAZANFORUM" 2023 (kazanforum.ru), a memorandum was signed between IBMC and the Malaysian University of Technology. Cooperation with the Malaysian side, initiated by the Council on the Priority "Personalized Medicine" of the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation, opens a new page in our common scientific history. Opportunities for the exchange of experience in the field of biology and medicine are outlined: bioengineering, development of drugs and new materials. Planned future joint activities.
Collaboration in Nanchang, China

Prof. Kate Poverennaya from IBMC together with experts in mass-spectrometry from Nanchan (Janxi Province, China) are inspecting a new building of the Center for Personalized Traditional Medicine
Recently, several new projects have been started with leading teams from India, Taiwan, and China (prof. Huanwen Chen, the head of the State Key Lab of Analytical Instrumentation and Mass-spectrometry).
Science: Russian National Project

The new equipment has already been installed and is being used for scientific research. The instruments help to analyze the function of proteins and to study cells in a variety of parameters. A cluster of computing servers allows you to store and analyze big data. The equipment allows scientists to participate in the International Human Proteome Project, which started in 2010 in Sydney. Today, more than 20 countries are participating in HPP-research. Russian scientists are responsible for the content of proteins encoded by the genes of chromosome 18. They have already found about 80% of proteins, but to understand their function, they need to conduct research on more powerful equipment. Now scientists can analyze the composition of biological samples with indicators recommended by the international community.

S20 Summit final meeting goes on-line

The final meeting of the representatives of the academies of sciences of the G20 Countries Science Twenty (S20) was held in the on-line format
The goal of the S20 Summit is to offer real solutions for the benefit of the world, drawing on the views of the scientific community on specific issues. As a result of the Summit, a communiqué "Foresight: Science as a Navigation Tool in Times of Critical Change" was prepared, which will be officially presented for consideration to the leaders of the G20 countries in November this year. The main conclusion, set out in the signed communiqué, is that the issues of the planet and people must be considered holistically and with a full understanding of the interconnectedness and complexity of human and natural systems.
