The main work of the laboratory is related to the metabolomic studies of body fluids to characterize the functioning of a biological object in a pathological state and the development of diagnostic methods based on metabolites – low-molecular (up to 1500 Da) organic compounds that are substrates, intermediates or products of biochemical reactions. Metabolomics is the final of the post-genomics disciplines, and the identified low-molecular substances provide comprehensive information about the patient's condition, the presence of pathological processes, the effectiveness of drug therapy, the risk of diseases, and the consequences of environmental factors on the body. The main research material is human blood plasma/serum, which is the most informative biological fluid available in the clinic for laboratory diagnostics. The main research method of metabolites in the blood plasma is a mass spectrometry analysis of low molecular weight substances. The laboratory staff is consists of highly qualified specialists with practical skills in the field of biochemistry and mass spectrometry analysis.

    Mass spectrometry analysis of blood plasma/serum metabolites for the development of methods for diagnosing and assessing the risk of socially significant diseases - prostate cancer, lung cancer, colorectal cancer, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, cardiovascular diseases.
  • Pharmacometabonomics.
    This direction implements a modern approach to personalized drug therapy based on the analysis of the metabolomics profile, which is an integral indicator of the intensity of xenobiotic catabolism in the body, the current state of the body and the genetically determined response to drug therapy of a particular patient.
